Jack

The next morning, Holly has us all working together to help bring this festival to life. The atmosphere is buzzing with activity as we gather in the town square, the cold winter air invigorating and crisp. The sun casts a golden hue over the snow-covered village, making everything sparkle as if dusted with glitter.

Holly stands in the center, clipboard in hand, her breath forming little puffs of white as she talks. She’s organized a group of volunteers, and everyone’s divided into teams with specific tasks.

“Alright, team,” Holly says, her voice filled with determination and excitement. “Here’s what we need to get done today. Decorations team, you’ll be in charge of setting up the Christmas lights and wreaths along Main Street. We want it to look like a winter wonderland.”

Daphne and Gina, armed with boxes of twinkling lights and evergreen wreaths, nod enthusiastically. “We’ve got this!” Daphne says, already envisioning the festive transformation.

“Entertainment team,” Holly continues, “you’ll be responsible for setting up the stage and coordinating the performances. Make sure we have everything ready for the carolers and the local band.”

David, who’s leading the entertainment team, gives a thumbs-up. “We’ll make it the best show Snowflake Village has ever seen.”

“Food and vendors team,” Holly says, turning to another group, “you’ll handle setting up the booths for local artisans and food stalls. We want a mix of traditional treats and unique crafts.”

Frank and a few other villagers gather around, already discussing the best layout for the vendor booths. “Don’t worry, Holly, we’ll make sure everyone’s got a prime spot,” Frank assures her.

Holly turns to me, a playful glint in her eyes. “Jack, you’re with me. We’re going to handle the centerpiece of the festival—the Christmas tree.”

I raise an eyebrow. “The Christmas tree, huh? Think you can handle that?”

She grins. “With your help, absolutely.”

We head to the spot where the giant evergreen tree has been placed, its branches heavy with snow. The smell of pine fills the air, and I can’t help but feel a surge of holiday spirit.

“We need to string the lights first,” Holly says, unraveling a long strand of colorful bulbs. “Then we’ll add the ornaments and, finally, the star on top.”

As we work together, climbing ladders and carefully draping the lights, I can’t help but admire Holly’s enthusiasm and dedication. She’s like a whirlwind of positive energy, and it’s contagious. The tree starts to come to life with each added decoration, becoming a beacon of festive cheer in the heart of the village.

“Looks like we’re making progress,” I say, stepping back to admire our handiwork.

Holly smiles, a twinkle in her eyes. “It’s going to be beautiful. Just wait until tonight when we light it up.”

By midday, the village is transformed. Main Street glows with twinkling lights, wreaths adorn every lamppost, and the stage is set for performances. The vendor booths are bustling with activity, ready to showcase local crafts and mouth-watering treats.

As the sun begins to set, casting a warm glow over the snowy landscape, Holly gathers everyone around the tree.
